Sometimes we forget that the lenses in our eyeglasses need to be updated periodically. They can get a scratch on them or the prescription may need to be altered as we age, grow and change.
Have you ever reached for your glasses, put them on, then taken them off again because you realized you couldn't see quite as clearly as you thought you should be able to? I have. I generally try to clean them (as if that will actually change what I can see through the pieces of glass), and then put them back on. The view may be a smidge clearer, but the sheer act of living a life fully will leave marks that, at some point in time, need to be smoothed over.
Too many of us tolerate blurry vision. We pick and poke at the scratch marks until we've opened up an old wound.
Maybe it's time to visit the eye doctor and get some new lenses so we can see the world through the eyes of clarity, hope, peace and unity with all our brothers and sisters.
You say some totally sensible stuff here, Merri.... I gotta admit that! Yet I wear scratchy glasses that are more than five years old and really not right for me anymore.... becaaaaaaaaaaaause.... I can't be bothered taking time to go get my eyes tested for new glasses????.... it's pitiful, I know. Actually, I rarely wear my glasses. I see pretty well without them; the only thing I need them for is reading. But, I am going to probably make an appointment with the eye doc this fall, when I'm not working as many hours. Cuz it IS ridiculous, having glasses that are so old and so scratched-up!

Duh! I must be having a "slow week"....I didn't even get that you were speaking of higher things! :o) !! I have learned to see so many things differently.... and I know there are still some that I am not seeing "right." Because ya know, anytime we're seeing too much negative in something.... then we're not seeing the whole picture of it.
I think that the Divine sees the world through everyone's eyes, from everyone's perspective, all at once. ("Everyone" would include not just humans, but literally "everyone.") And the more different ways we can learn to view things, the closer we are coming to the Divine. What do you think?
I completely agree! Whenever we feel like we are out of options and have hit a brick wall, I think to myself, "Maybe I need to have a different perspective on all of these." There are an infinite number of possibilities out there and we limit ourselves when we look at the world with blinders on, thinking it has to be this way or that... black or white. The world is filled with shades of grey. What a gift that is!! Especially if we embrace it and seek it out.
I think the reason so many people see things in either black or white is that this is the easiest way, and people are lazy by nature. It IS harder to make decisions, etc., when we can see all these many many shades of color that fall between the black and the white! It requires so much THINKING! Sometimes I get tired of thinking and just wish someone would tell me what to do. But of course I don't really want that....I just want the thinking to be over and done with!
But then, ya know, ultimately, we often feel that decisions MUST be made, when actually, they don't have to be made at all. We just think they do! it's like God/dess has told me though.... it doesn't ever really matter which choice we make....what matters, is what we "make" of that choice (whichever one it was!).
Absolutely!! Besides, a choice can always be unchosen. Sometimes we think that once we've decided something it is written in stone. It's not. =) It's that "deer in the headlights" thing that drives me crazy. Move... any direction... remaining still when a pick-up truck is barreling down on you is just not in your best interest!!!
