Cancer.

When you see the word written down, or you hear it spoken through the lips of someone near by, chances are good that you’re mind goes to someone who’s been affected by it. Perhaps it's even a challenge you’ve dealt with personally. Whether it’s a family member, a friend, or yourself, it’s a word you’re familiar with. It’s a deadly disease you’re familiar with.

Every minute, someone dies of some type of cancer. In the time it took you to read the first paragraph, a persons life has ended.

I’ve been touched by cancer several times in my life, and I’m merely 25 years old. My grandfather passed away from prostate cancer when I was 4. My other grandpa battled colorectal cancer and won. My grandma had uterine cancer- she lives to tell about it too. Most recently, my family is dealing with the unfortunate prognosis of my uncles cancer. He was diagnosed with mouth cancer a couple of years ago, and even after countless treatments, he’s in stage 4 with a life expectancy of only mere weeks. The cancer has spread to his head, his neck, his lungs and his stomach.

Although it may be too late for him, it’s not too late for millions of others who will undoubtedly battle the same disease in years to come. There has never been a more important time to do something about it. Medical breakthroughs are happening - they’re closer to beating cancer then you may think.

Every dollar makes a difference. It could be your dollar that pushes research over the top and makes it possible to find a cure. I’ve donated, now it’s your turn.

Donate now.

I have several clients who are going through treatment, one who recently lost her battle...thank God, a few special friends who survived and thrived, and know many who are still in treatment ...their journey and their courage never fails to make me want to do more. I watched the SU2C telethon and cried ...it was such a moving tribute to survivors and a poignant, heart tugging look at the journey of those who have been or still are in the fight. I'm standing up.

My Mom and Brother both died of cancer in their fifties.
But I have many friends who have had cancer and survived! And I am thankful for all of my friends who fought the disease and won.

Meghan,
There are many of us, myself included, who have heard that dreaded "c" word. I've been told that 1 out of 3 people will have some form of cancer in their lifetime. We need to find a cure.
